I have just turned on the advertising portion of the script, and the only entry I have for adwords is "*http://*". I also removed the global entries. I disabled the part/quit ban option for swears and advertisements. It works as intended for the "*http://*" spams. The problem I'm...

I have a question in regards to the bwords list. Let's say the badword is "tick" just to keep this forum friendly. If I add 'tick', it will only punish them if the person says 'tick' and ONLY tick, not 'I have a tick on me'. It doesn't seem to focus on individual words, but on the ENTIRE l...

Lets just say I didn't and that's that. EDIT: Curiosity got the better of me. Yes, I killed the bot entirely and reloaded it. Yes, I made sure 'alter-alice.tcl' was loaded in the .conf after alice.tcl. As you can see below, I was opped and the bot didn't respond. Gave myself a + as well, and i...

caesar, I couldn't remember if maybe I didn't kill/reload the bot and just did a .rehash when i tried your 2nd chunk of code, so I just tried it again with a proper shut down/reload -- it still didn't work for me. Why? Beats me! Like you said, at least it's working now though :P

Well, I'm not getting any kind of errors with that one. However, the bot isn't responding whether I'm opped or not. Unload that bit of code and it goes back to responding again.

Hmm, it would seem something isn't quite right. I killed the bot, loaded alice-alter.tcl directly after alice.tcl as directed, and re-started eggdrop. The bot stopped responding to me period, whether I had @/+ or not. I dcc'd it and did a .rehash just to see, and it crashed with the following (usele...

Alright, so it's pretty much: A) deal with it as is, or B) try v1.2.0 and tweak it to only listen to @/+ or +o/+v it sounds like. :? Thanks for your answers!

That's exactly my problem, I can't read it either. lol. I wasn't even sure what it was, I'm certainly no TCL programmer. This is the only version of the script (v1.4.0 anyways) that I have come across. There's no way to change it back to normal code huh?

alice.tcl 1.4.0

I was curious if anyone might know how to make the alice script only respond to users with @ or + on the channel so it doesn't get abused by flooders. I looked back at v1.2.0 which has "normal" tcl scripting at the bottom, but I have no idea what all this stuff at the bottom of this one af...

Haven't really had an issue with people leaving +M or +R on lately, so I kind of forgot about this, but I still haven't really been able to find (or modify) a script to do just what I'm looking for. I run AllProtection which sets modes to stop floods for a minute, but if people keep rejoining and fl...

Well, I think I SHOULD be good with how it is now. I have 4 server admins that frequent the channel, and 2 of them are added to the bot as +v because they are 'regulars'. My clone kick is set @ 3 (so if there is a 'dead' connection, and the person rejoins on a 'live' connection, they don't get banne...

Hey caesar, I really like that first example. Nice and clean and right to the point. It would also prevent me from having to manually edit the file anytime I wanted to add another clone exempt. I have a question in regards to that method though: Say I have user1@blah.net; user2@blah.net; and user3@b...
