What is the exact error?

I'm going to assume that the bot conf isn't set with the
#set nat-ip "127.0.0.1"

When the external user tries to dcc chat your bot, the dcc window will prolly load up with your internal ip, therefor the external user will be out of luck.

What Network are your bots on?

I know with Efnet, if a server is stoned... that means the server died and the bot will jump servers to find another one.

Make sure alternative servers are available for your bots, in the conf.

One method would be to have 1 bot with a ban expire time of (X mins) and have all the other bots set with 0 (so they never unban).

Ya, that is very annoying. I wish it wouldn't issue the /who command. The only solution I can offer is for you to get ircN. They have a patch designed for the /who command. You can then set the max number of clients in a channel that the /who will be ignored. In my case, I never want to see /who, so...

Anyword on the 1.6.16rc1 ?

It's been about 5 weeks now and I haven't heard a single word.

.chattr bot +N

this adds the Netbots flag to the bot, then it will be able to respond to the command.

Once you make it into the partyline, type .console +s (then type .jump)

port 25 doesn't reflect the eggdrop.
if you set port 25 for the eggdrop, pick another port, say 12345.

try /ctcp bot chat
