I've kinda fixed it.. Changed nothing from my original setup, but installed an older version of TCL (8.3.0) and recompiled the eggdrop. Voilà! Everything regarding the special norwegian characters worked. Only problem now is that I get the following error from one of my scripts: "Cant' find pac...

Guess the problem is related to serverwide settings then. How do I set the encoding system?

Problems with nordic characters when upgrading Eggdrop.

Hi! Just recently upgraded some of my bots in the botnet to 1.6.17 and because of the halfop/leaf-"bug" I decided to upgrade all of them. One didn't behave as I had hoped with problems regarding the special nordic characters. An ø is replaced with "Ã," (Including the comma(!!)) f...

I've allready tried doing a "export LANG=no_NO" which is Norwegian. Still the same result in eggdrop, but at least the "ø" is displayed correctly in joe.. :)

Shouldn't matter, I copied the file directly from another eggdrop install made earlier today. Used ASCII ftp-transfer. And the other eggrdrop runs fine without any encoding system-entry in the configfile.

Used a fresh install of Joe to edit both files.

Problems with special nordic characters.

I have trubles with special norwegian characters. The bot is ordered to join #Tromsø in the config-file, but ends up in #TromsÃ. If I do a ".+chan #Tromsø", the bot joins as it should. But whenever the bot is restarted it won't join again. I've come across this before but I can't remember ...

Still doesn't work, which is strange... tromso.log.01Jun2003 02-Jun-2003 00:00 737k tromso.log.01Jun2004 02-Jun-2004 00:00 492k The top one works, the bottom one doesn't. I thought it was a filesize issue, but the top one is bigger than the latter... This isn't an Apache / html forum so I should pro...

Filename of logfiles when using "keep-all-logs 1"

Hi! When using "keep-all-logs 1", eggdrop saves the logfiles with channelname.log.dateyear (ie: wherever.log.17Jul2005). I dump all the files to a folder publically available on a webserver, but no browser understands what a 17Jul2005-file is and thus order the user to download the file an...

No. I'd like this problem fixed, instead of making a half-good TCL workaround.

Yes! Encoding is a step in the right direction.. If I remember correctly, this was resolved using a few simple commands, probably SET & EXPORT? However, I can't remember what it was. I've compared to another Fedora box and can't find out what I need to change from what I read off the "set&q...

The bot does everything it's supposed to do. It joins the correct channel, but with an "Ã" instead of the "ø" in the channelname.

Problems with Eggdrop and extended characters. (utf-8)

Hi! One of my linux-boxes was recently upgraded from Fedora Core 1 to Core 2. I had to build a new eggdrop from source, and installed eggdrop1.6.17. I copied the eggdrop-executeable and modules to my old directory, overwriting the old files. The bot started up as normal, but failed to join my channe...
