Same result, no reply. I tried the .set errorInfo command as suggested (immediately after the error) while logged in, and got back: [11:42] #Mabus# set errorInfo Currently: So I guess it didn't detect any errors. I've also commented out all tcl's except test.tcl so there is no other conflict. In cas...

I take your point regarding confusing people. Let me try as simple an explanation as I can make it then. I need a command where, if you type a command to read a line, The bot reads the line # from a file in a folder and puts the line itself back in the channel; <John> !folder filename line# <Bot> Li...

Speechless, I came to the forum for help... Tosser offered a suggestion for a script that didn't work for me, and after no one replied after a couple of days I repeated my request to see if anyone else had any ideas (lest anyone think the problem was solved). I assumed this was the best way to go ab...

there was no sarcasm.... and it wasn't a bump .... and it wasn't an attempt to make people "do my bidding" ... it's a script request forum is it not? It's a script I really need, and this is more of a plea for help. I thought that's what this forum was for after all.

Thanks for all the replies guys, I appreciate the help. I'll be as detailed as I possibly can be; The path is: #! /usr1/home/server/mabus/bot The text files will be in: /bot/scripts/txt/ Inside /txt/ will be a series of folders all like /bot/scripts/txt/help/ or /bot/scripts/txt/rules/ or /bot/scrip...

Thanks for the reply theice, I realise i was a bit unclear in my question though, sorry about that. Here's perhaps a better description of what I need to do, Let me give you a step by step example so you can see what I meant; The structure includes numerous FOLDERS, each folder has many (txt) FILES ...

Need a script line

When a user types; !folder file 1:1 I need a line of script that returns the line 1:1 inside the requested file, inside the requested folder. What would be the simplest way to do this? I also need if possible for the $file variable to only look at the first 3 letters of the word and ignore the rest ...

Multiple Channels - One Database

I have three channels {a main public channel, an ops only channel, and a private bot testing channel for myself alone}. I would like it so that a quote added from any of the three channels would go to ONE database file, and where whenever someone types !quote # it reads off that one database. I've p...

The fix only seems to work if you turn off the variables involved in date stamping the logs {on top}. It's not a perfect solution quite yet. The rotation problem seems to still be there. Trying to rotate daily gives nothing but error messages. Weekly gives an error message the first time you set it...

Thanks Rosc2112, i'll try that out

Dragonlord, all that means is that the line in the bot which loads the script caused an error {there's an error in the Mel script}. That's not the problem. The problem is with the script itself.
