What is wrong with DarkMist`'s trivia.tcl script

Whenever I run eggdrop with the script enabled and start it, it asks questions and gets answers fine for like 3 minutes, then my CPU starts to run at 100% and my computer fan goes crazy. Eggdrop no longer responds to any commands and eventually pings out after about a minute or two. I have also hear...

How to make lowercase letters

I am using this TriviaBot script: http://www.egghelp.org/tclhtml/3478-4-0-0-1-trivia-tcl-DarkMist.htm Which is pretty simple, but I don't know why when it displays the questions, all the letters are in uppercase/capital letters. How do I make it back to lowercase? (The questions in the database are ...

Thanks, that did the trick!

But do you know why the ^M character appears during DOS to UNIX conversion? What's this symbol called and the story behind it?

^M thing at the end of every line

For some reason, there is a ^M character at the end of every line in a script. How can I get rid of all of them? (It's not 2 separate characters, ^M seems to be just one if I try to move my cursor to it, or press backspace it deletes ^M at the same time.)

Idle counter

I need a script that keeps a track of how long a nickname has idled in a channel, and you can recall how long by doing a command like !idle and it will show how long that user has idled in the channel. Also it would be helpful if it was possible to link multiple nicknames so if someone changes their...

Well the script does load and I can do the commands in the channel, but it doesn't give any hints at all. I ran it over a period of 30 min. and it never gives any hints, even if you do !hint Like you can do !ctc and the game will start and the bot says so, but it never gives any hints and the game n...

Can you upload your script please? You can edit out the bot nickname and channel information, etc. I dunno why...I tried it in Windows Eggdrop and it worked but not in Linux. :(

emokid, there is a couple of scripts around that will add more public & msg commands, as well as a 'login', but I would recommend the Stormbot.tcl.
Thanks so much!

Well the main site was down, so I downloaded from your site: http://www.ballarat.us/modules.php?name ... etit&lid=1

I got the latest version install and everything, but there's still no /usr in my eggbot directory

Reponse to custom command [SOLVED]

I'd just like a simple script that I can edit, so like if I say "botnick make peter a sandwich", the bot will reply with the action "/me makes a sandwich and gives it to peter". I searched for a bit for scripts like this, and I found similar ones but I could not find one that cou...
