Today is your lucky day! I just changed the feed to be the rss feed instead of the atom feed, they look exactly the same, except the rss one works :) Heres your updated code. Have fun! Oh and deleted the old db one more time so it updates with the good info. set rss(group-rss) { "url&quo...

I'd turn it on for that feed and see how that goes and/or delete the file that holds the info for the feed looks like you call it group-rss.db report back if that works or not (or errors as the case may be) Hi wac, Here's my new config for the feed: set rss(group-rss) { "url" "http:/...

do you have evaluate tcl on for that feed? evaluate-tcl 1 Hi wac, I just checked my script and I don't have evaluate-tcl switched on for this feed. In addition, I have this in my default settings: set default { <snip> "max-depth" 5 "evaluate-tcl" 0 "update-interval" 30...

Hm now even odder.. After a little while, the bot announced some new items to the channel on the above feed. The only problem being the output looked like this: [17:45] <+mybot> \[technobabble-mailing-list\] - [string map { "&from=rss" "" } ""] [17:45] <+mybot> \[te...

Hi folks, A bit stumped on this error - it's probably something simple but I'm not quite sure what.. I'm running 0.5b1. Here's my config file: set rss(group-rss) { "url" "http://groups.google.com/group/techno-babble/feed/atom_v1_0_msgs.xml" "channels" "#technobabbl...

You must be causing this by editing the script with something mangling encodings. Use Wordpad, not notepad, if your on a windows platform. Carefully picking apart the whole process shows I got screwed twice by file caching - once when downloading via the browser and once again when FTPing using a s...

Hi, Been having some trouble getting 1.98e to work. Any time I activate the script, the bot crashes. Trying to relaunch the bot gives the following error: [23:08:39] Tcl error in file 'bot.conf': [23:08:39] missing close-brace: possible unbalanced brace in comment while executing "namespace eva...

[Request] Script to store and recall URLs

Hi, I've been trying to figure out if such a script exists, but my limited search-fu has failed me :( A lot of URLs get posted in the channel I moderate and I think it would be useful if folks could log on and check atleast partially any links posted in the channel while they were offline. So I am l...

If you used /ctcp <bot> chat, then simply type .fixcodes in the partyline. And yes, you may have multiple hosts for a user record. See .help, .help +host, .help -host, .help whois in the partyline. Thanks once again for the fixcode tip - that fixed it :P I've just corrected the hostmask problem - n...

Re: Another DCC Chat question

You will not be able to chat your bot without a password set. You must message your bot and set a password first. ie. /msg <bot> pass <pass> Also, your hostmask is incorrect... Hostmasks are of the form <nick>!<ident>@<host> .... You are missing the nick portion... You may want *!*@*, but as anothe...

Another DCC Chat question

Unfortunately I've had to throw up my hands in defeat and ask yet another question about getting DCC Chat working. I currently connect to IRC using ChatZilla from behind a transparent proxy (opening ports on the proxy is not an option). I am connecting to the Freenode network. I have been able to su...
