many thanks on those two points, the problem is, setting the IP is pretty much a permafail since I bounce between 2-3 ISP's a day, and, I'm also not on mirc, I'm almost constantly on ircle (osx).

as a side thought, how do you set the bot up to actually handle connections from within the same WAN IP?
