Indeed, you have spotted the pitfalls. This is because eggdrop only processes one command at a time. It is not possible to read ahead of itself. What you will need is some form of a callback system. Callback is the process or sending a command that can't complete right away on the spot, at this poin...

OK.

The "chanlist" command spits out a list of nickname on the channel.

The "foreach" command will cycle through each person in a list.

I don't understand why you are trying to do what your doing, as it quite simply isn't thought about.

The "chanlist" command returns a list of users that you can use lindex on.

What exactly are you trying to do, as you seem to be confusing how to operate lists.

You could if you so wish, use concat.

Code: Select all

set a "hello"
set b "world"
set var [concat $a $b]
set var
Would output "helloworld"

That gave all the information needed. 1: It stated what error message was given. 2: It asked a question Without knowing much about eggdrop, many people will not have the knowledge required to specificly provide further detail. This is reflected in the post-count. This error is generated when a scrip...

Yes. This provides a nice way to access variables dynamicly. IE set ourvar "hello" set thisvar "ourvar" puts -stdout [set $thisvar] Mixed with the fact that Proc declarations will return the buffer of the last executed command, if no exclicit return is performed. This is the prec...

Right, I have a little more time on my hands now, so lets go a little more indepth as to why encryption of this kind is silly and impossible. OK, I conceed there are a few ways to prevent people from getting the password. One method is to code the bot such that it reacts to being traced. There are t...

Then you should have heard why the peoplet hat do this, closly protect there methods. If they where to become public, then the encryption would be usless. You have to somehow tell the bot the password to decrypt it 1: If you told it on the command line. People could easily read it. 2: If you specifi...

You don't need to know C.

Just use the CVS version of the code. It can be found in the snapots directory on ftp://ftp.eggheads.org/

As for 1.7, it isn't even beta, but that too needs people to test. Though for usfulness, forget it.

1.6.16 has way less bugs. For one, IPv6 has been removed, that removes most of the issues. There has also been a lot of work on other apparent issues that seem to have cropped up whilst 1.6.15 was out. There is an aim for march 1st with 1.6.16. However, I have seen that slip constantly over the past...

Ask your shell provider for a list of v-hosts that they provide, then set the value of my-ip to the IP of vhost you chose, then the value of my-hostname to the vhost.

I would advise an upgrade to 1.6.16 when it comes out.

There are a few bugs that have been ironed out in the source tree. IPv6 has been stripped, which was the mega headache.
