Bot not changing topic

Post by MD87 »

Hi,

Just recently my bot has not been changing the topic on one channel.
Using the .tcl command, the .topic command, or a public command, it doesn't change the topic. However, it appears to think that it is:
-- DCC chat --

[13:07:53] <MD87> .topic #mdbot.priv
[13:07:53] <)MDbot> [13:07] tcl: builtin dcc call: *dcc:topic MD87 9 #mdbot.priv
[13:07:53] <)MDbot> The topic for #mdbot.priv is: Test
[13:08:09] <MD87> .topic #mdbot.priv Test2
[13:08:10] <)MDbot> [13:07] tcl: builtin dcc call: *dcc:topic MD87 9 #mdbot.priv Test2
[13:08:10] <)MDbot> Changing topic...
[13:08:10] <)MDbot> [13:07] #MD87# (#mdbot.priv) topic Test2
[13:08:10] <)MDbot> [13:08] Topic changed on #mdbot.priv by MDbot!dataforce@irc.ownsyou.org.uk: Test2

-- On the channel : --

[13:08:29] * Topic is '#mdbot.priv'
[13:08:29] * Set by MD87 on Sat Dec 14 11:47:13
[13:08:40] <@MD87> DFBots saytopic
[13:08:41] <@DFBots> The Current Topic is : #mdbot.priv
I assumed that it was a problem with my bouncer, until the other bot in the channel said that the topic was what I thought it was.

I've tried removing and readding the channel, setting it +inactive, then -inactive, making it part + rejoin the chan, deopping and opping it, but nothing seems to make it work.

Also, it changes topics on all the other channels fine:
[13:10:57] <MD87> .topic #mdbot Test2
[13:10:57] <)MDbot> [13:10] tcl: builtin dcc call: *dcc:topic MD87 9 #mdbot Test2
[13:10:57] <)MDbot> Changing topic...
[13:10:57] <)MDbot> [13:10] #MD87# (#mdbot) topic Test2

[13:10:58] * MDbot changes topic to 'Test2'
Any help would be greatly appeciated

Btw, I'm running eggdrop version 1.6.12

[edit]
Its not a problem with the channel modes or anything, as the other bot can change the topic ok.
And of course, the bot is opped
Also, this is on quakenet, if that helps
[/edit]

Thanks

Ack, I've just noticed that the bot was on a server on which Quakenet are testing their new ircd :/

I made the bot jump to another server and it works fine

This sound slike one of those herid non-RFC IRCD's.

There is nothing you can do, bar complain to the network stating it is breaking your client.
