I was wondering if anyone could help me. I've been running an eggdrop bot for over a year now with no trouble.
Suddenly, today, I notice that the bot is on the channel but it seems to think that is isn't. I noticed this when it had stopped voicing people and also when I tried typing an .act command and it says 'I cannot say to channel as I am not on that channel'
Any idea why a bot which was working just fine would suddenly do this?
I am having a similar problem, but on a new bot. Server is linkline.liveharmony.org, set as net-type 1. Attempting to sit on 6 channels, appears to join all 6, shows members on only some of them. Using .act on the ones which do not show members produces the '..I am not on that channel' message. Have made no changes to channel settings, but the channels he recognizes having joined seem to vary from start-up to start-up of the bot.
Would appreciate any assistance in getting this fixed.
I'm running on my private network an Unreal3.1.4-Meadows irc server and I shoud have net-type 0 or 4. Anyway, I have 0 and use 0 on Undernet also. If I change it to 2 is not working propertly.. So, a quick server version chk and find it's place in the list should to the trick like did for me.
Once the game is over, the king and the pawn go back in the same box.
Only thing I changed recently was to have the bot connect on port 6670 instead of 6667 (as they have too many people connecting on 6667 and it slows things down)
Other than that no changes. I have had it set to network type 5 (other) for the past 6 months and have had no problems till now.

No, will try that next time.

Yes, it didn't help.

Not sure - it's possible since they seem to be making updates and fixing things a lot lately. I didn't realize it could be related to changes they have made and assumed it was something on my side.
I loaded it up today and it's mysteriously started working again. I didn't do anything different - so maybe it is the Admins changing things. If it happens again I'll try another network. Thanks for the help!
The admins on Aniverse disabled the /who command because they were having problems with some bug. This broke all eggdrops on Aniverse
They fixed the bug and reenabled /who (and downgraded their ircd because their problems didn't stop ) so your bot should be working since a few days back.
Exactly, /who is onething an eggdrop majorly relies on. And disabling that will surely break up things. Moreover, if that isn't the problem, sometimes the channels are desynched. Solving which, will bring back things to normal. Just FYI.
