too many connection local or global

Post by vince »

I have only one ip and i'm offering some freeshell just for a limited number of users.
All the users on server connect to different italian irc servers on Ircnet.
All italian ircnet servers allow not more than two clones each.
Is there any way to provide more connections to IRCnet from a single Ip?

thnx

A clone is a clone, period.

Other than using another IP, there isn't anything you can do.

However, it is possible to use BNC's, and scripts available for eggdrop, to use BNC hosts.

Don't suppose you know of any simple guide to getting running with IPv6?

It is somthing I have wished to get into for some time, but could not be bother moving to another IRC network, just to test it.

Now EFnet have some servers up, it's viable. I just havn't found anything sung to a simple tune, other than the very technical 6bone docs.

efnet sent a server notice yesterday saying they would kline for more then 5 connections per /64
as for a simple guide well its not all that hard ppslim check out http://ipv6tb.he.net for a free tunnel and set up your ifconfig inet6..
as for bots well you just use set my-ip "ipv4 ip here" and set my-ip6 "ipv6 here"

clones

Post by De Kus »

usually to run more clones than allowed on a network you have to get a thrust. check the homepage and contact the staff to get a thrust. i know only the rules for quakenet, but i suppose other networks will handle similar, so you are suppost to have a static ip, run identd and tell them a cause why you need more clones. then you will get a thrust for example 10 clones. exceeding this will resulet againi in a temporär g-/k-line...

I have got IPv6 operation on my system.

I have two accounts with seperate brokers, and 1 is giving me hell.

The first works fine, and has reserve DNS allready set, for the tunnel IP, however, the second, which will route a \64 subnet or a single IP, no longer wants to function.

I can't even remember if the script I am using for it, si the same that brought it up originaly (which worked).
