hey guys, take a look at this

[02:22] <hubbot> [02:16] Telnet connection: hub@host.com/2064
[02:22] <hubbot> [02:16] Timeout/EOF ident connection
[02:22] <hubbot> [02:16] Refused telnet@hub@hotst.com (non-bot)

[02:22] <leafbot> [02:14] Lost Bot: hubbot.

This occurs when im trying to link 2 bots, there are 7 diffrent bots in the botnet all linked and functional, but this last one just wont link. The hub is a FreeBSD4.3-Stable and the leaf is a Debian 2.2.19pre17. Both machines have static ip adresses and i have full control over the firewalls so i know that there isnt any firewall probs. Any input on this ?

This looks like a name conflict.

In the leafs config file, what have you set as the botnick setting?

Take this value, and do a ".whois <value>" on the hub. Is this the bot you where trying to connect.

yes, the names are the ones the bot _should_ link to, ive also dubble checked the port configurations this morning, but i still get the same error. This one really puzzles me

try adding the bot as a bot using .+bot instead of adding them as a regular user.

well, i actually did that, ive linked one or two bots in the past and never had any probs  , the only thing i changed whas the idents then they linked fine, ie from ~leafbot@somehost.net to *!*@somehost.net . strange thing is that the other bots in the botnet uses the ~leafbot@somehost.net way and they work, it ws just this one bot who wouldnt give in, hehe, well all sorted out and working like a charm now.

thanx for the input
