Trouble with bot as operator

Post by Zephyrov »

«15:06» <Zephyrov> .op
«15:06» <ZephBot> I can't help you now because I'm not a chan op on #sins.

This is in DCC chat. My bot has SOP access to the channel and is an op in that channel. However, for some reason it doesn't recognise that it's an operator there.

Also, how and where do I configure/set my bot to enable protection modes? Is there a list of available protection modes already?

Thanks.

Also,

«15:10» <ZephBot> [15:10] #sins (+strnak password) : [m/12 o/2 h/0 v/0 n/10 b/0 e/- I/-]

In the channel, it currently has 13 ops and that's it. How come it shows o/2 only? And what does m/12 and n/10 mean? Normal users 10 and master users 2? I didn't set anyone to be master user yet though.

is this a network with protect chanmodes on it? like +a or whatever?
setting that on your bot will screw it up.. it wont realize it has ops if its set before the +o mode... so if your network has this that may be why you are seeing only 2 ops as well..
[m/12 o/2 h/0 v/0 n/10 b/0 e/- I/-]
modes 12 ops 2 halfops 0 voices 0 normal 10 bans 0 exempts 0 invites 0
i ... "think" heh :P

Yeah, the network has +a. Whenever the bot joins, the server services +ao to the bot.

What does mode 12 mean?

means there is 12 modes on the channel i guess :P
its probably seeing the 2 +o as modes.. and 10 +a's would be my guess :)

i suggest you dont use +a on your bots.. then they should work fine

Can't help it. If a nick is on the channel access list, the network services automatically +a upon entry. Also how do I configure my bot with protection settings? Is there a place where I can read how they work and how to set it up?

Switch IRC networks. Eggdrop won't work on that one.

True. If you do get it to work, submit a patch to the patches at eggheads email address.
