To my knowledge there aren't any swear/cuss bad words in any of the language (.lang) files in any of the eggdrop versions. For verification you can check the /language files with respect to your language preference and try to find the match for the swear/cuss word(s) your encountered.
To my guess: You might be running some kind of tcl script or 3rd party module or something, which gives output in putlog, or something similar as you have just mentioned.

Once upon a time (in a Galaxy far, far away) ... there apparently was but was removed due to complaints. I'm going back possibly over 2 years ago now; not that I ever came across it myself.

Yes it might be in the IRCd raw or, services (notices, messages). Other than that I don't think so. However some networks use services themes of ChanServ and NickServ etc, which I have found out lately on some smaller networks, but I didn't find them to be vulgar or offensive.

Whenever I close a DCC session with one of my eggies in mIRC I brielfy see "Ja mata!", this has nothing to do with any mIRC script and I doubt an IRCD either. I think this is what oldmandtr is referring to. As I said previously, it was changed from the original which was offensive. I remember once seeing a post here many moons ago referring to it and the fact it was altered.
Once again, it was not something I actually came across.
