Another Connect Error

Post by JD »

I'm fairly new to Eggdrops only because I haven't gotten one to work for me yet. I usually have to have some techie fix it for me. Anyhow...I'm getting somewhere with this one. When I do the ./eggdrop -m name.conf and he tries to connect the server disconnects him. Why is this...the message says something about an open proxy or the like. How can I cure this so I can get my first working eggdrop? Please Help
If I'm not Chatting...kick me I'm probably dead. LOL

by securing your eggdrop host machine not to run an open proxy (close ports 23, 1080, 3128, check your webserver on port 80, make sure it doesn't run mod_proxy); if you are not that machine's admin, talk to the admin(s), let them know about the problem

of course, if you have configured your bot to use proxy to connect to IRC, reconfigure it to connect directly, without using proxy
