I'm running about 5 eggs using 1.6.8, and
one I just compiled with 1.6.9.

Is it worth it to upgrade from 1.6.8 -> 1.6.9?

I am just looking for some feedback,

Thanks in advance,

that depends on ya point of view. I'm of the old school of thought "if it ain't broke - don't fix it". Read the changelog - see if anything in it applies to you directly. If you've got a stable bot that does everything you want it to do with no security holes (or generally no holes that can be exploited by anyone without +n/+m), then why bother to upgrade at all? (eg, most of my bots run on 1.6.6 - its stable on my boxes, with nothing exploitable, and does everything I want, so I can't be bothered upgrading the 40+ bots just to bump the version number and add in some features I'll never use).

I also believe in the 'if it ain't broke, don't fix it' philosophy. But I also want to add that, if it DOES break at some point, then do go to the trouble of updating to the latest version, then ask for help if it's still required. Helping people with problems related to old, superceeded code is a pain in the behind from a developer's perspective.

1.6.8 to 1.6.9 is recommended (I broke hand2nick and nick2hand in 1.6.8 by accident) .. but yeah, 1.6.6 to 1.6.9 .. not really that big of a deal .. 1.6.7 to 1.6.9 .. also not that big of a deal .. 1.6.0 to 1.6.9, huge huge deal .. it all depends like both of the people before me said "if it aint broke, don't fix it" -- course if you complain about bugs on an old version without checking a newer one out we'll just ignore you <g>

Well for me, I am NOT upgrading from my 168, becuse I happen to like the number 8 instead of 9. 9 is such an UGLY number...lol

I'm one of those people who loves numbers, and 9 is not one of my favorites  eeeeewww!

But, yes, I do agree, if it ain't broke, don't fix it, because usually when u try to fix stuff that ain't broke, you wind up breaking it! So with that said, I can wait for 1.7.0 or maybe 1.8.2 or maybe 2.0.1 lol

Good NEWS: EdGei is #9090 on uptime list..lmao

LOL, "If it aint broke dont fix it"

/me is the master of that one, I'm still using 1.5.4 on some bots and a couple of them are still 1.3.23

I tend to install a newer bot to test tcl's etc then go back to older ones again. Dont ask why, I dont really know to be honest lol

Regards
