I have checked this with mIRC users (as I use X-Chat) and they also see the following (Metric) output in the channel.
Temp: 8C Humidity: 100%
I edited the file with Kate (UTF8). The same result when converted to ISO 8859-1.

for the degree symbol to properly display, client should UTF display enabled
the Windows clients mIRC, kvirc, and xchat have this feature (I've used them during testing)

Code: Select all

[12:14:38pm] <Mybot> Charlottesville, Virginia -- 12:14 PM EDT Updated: 12:14 PM EDT
[12:14:40pm] <Mybot> Temp: 25°C Heat Index: 25°C Humidity: 42%
[12:14:42pm] <Mybot> Conditions: Scattered Clouds Wind: Calm
with UTF display enabled it shows fine (this was copied from mIRC)
ISO 8859-1 doesn't have the degree symbol

My apologies. I tracked down the "problem", and have no idea why it would be a problem either, but I re-edited the file in nano and it's displaying as expected.

Triggering a forecast yields nothing with this version however:
.wzf tunis-carthage tn
The older (3.8.3) script does. There is no error.

Thank you, I can't test every location.
New version posted.
If someone finds another location that doesn't work, let me know.

DragnLord, excellent work on the script. i was wondering if there are any plans to implement a shorter forecast, something like the current day and night, or the current day, night, and next day?

I hadn't planned on it, however, putting that in place for the next version will be easy to do.

New parsing engine

Post by DragnLord »

Due to wunderground's latest website changes it becomes apparent that a new parsing engine is needed.

I will post when a new version is available.

Sure appreciate it. I've been using the script often. Of course, it still delivers the weather; it just looks a bit messy right now. Will certainly appreciate your next update. Thanks!
