edu:
That is a rather serious claim, yet I cannot see any of those "edu" variables you've mentioned in any of the scripts linked on this page (I havn't gone through all 6 pages though) by blackshadow.

Any information (location to script, etc) to back up your claim would be helpful.

because he changed all the variables... ohhh god!!

he will never say that i'm right, the important thing is that i know the truth!

it's easy to copy/paste codes from forums, other .tcl's, etc.. then modify the variables and release a script, am i right ??

anyway... watch the code and tell me if i'm wrong... the code isnt made by the same person, or scripter...

the scripts should be forum.egghel.org.tcl, not blackgay.tcl

The name(s) of variables are seldom the best way to argue a copyright infringement, mainly as it's not a hard task to alter them like you said. That said, The v2.2 copy I downloaded roughly 2 minutes after your previous post had no "edu" variables either.

To the point; you ask us to compare the code - but with what? I'm not inclined to dig through the whole forum + script archive here in a "needle in a haystack" search.
What pieces of code has been stolen, where were they posted?

Now don't take this the wrong way, we do take claims of copyright infringements very seriously. You do, however, have to argue your case better than this.

http://ja.pastebin.ca/870060
found this at the bottom:
putlog "Alltools Tcl by Norules {modified by BLaCkShaDoW } Loaded "
In the newest version found this:
putlog "BlackTools version $vers (English Version) by $Autor (ALL Rights Reserved)"
The original author or concept creator should _ALWAYS_ be mentioned. Blackshadow has not done this in his latest script which does indeed make it appear like theft. Clearly his newest script evolved from that old script, so why not thank the original concept creator/author for the idea? It would avoid situations like this from occuring.

Also, nml375 wouldn't make a very good bloodhound, but then he never claimed to be. With my research I've uncovered that within blacktools.tcl it verifies edu's claim. This script is indeed sourced from the pastebin'd script shown above. From (2.2)blacktools.tcl or (1.9)This copy found through Google
NOTE: The 2.2 copy I have to host this file myself now, blackshadow has changed the source of his version to now use black(array) instead of edu(array) which erases all proof of his theft. Realize I did not tamper with this file, this is why a mirror obtained through Google is provided. Confirms that edu is not making this up and there is quite a basis for his claim. This is likely why blackshadow hasn't made any comment and instead rushed to change his scripts to hide this fact. The copy at the url above and copy below were originally downloaded from http://www.tclscripts.net/scripts/Black ... kTools.tcl last night. That file has since been changed, overnight, meaning edu is correct. nml375, in this case, what is the correct thing to do? 50 lashes with cat-o-nine tails? An apology, and proper credit given to concept creator/author?

Code: Select all

set edu(nreason) "Your nick is considered to be a bad one , change it and rejoin !"
set edu(ntime) "10"
set edu(nxtime) "1"
set edu(nxlevel) "100"
... several dozen/hundred more similarly named vars within the same edu(array) continue...
That being said, this script is a mess of improper lists vs strings and unbraced expr's. Unindented and quite harsh on the eyes, any serious eggdrop user would already avoid this like the plague. ;)

speechles: That is good investigation. As for actions, a first step would be to let blackshadow share his/her point of view. The final word, in the context of *.egghelp.org, would be slennox' with the support of us Moderators.
In the wider context, it would be a matter of a legal process.

In either case, the plaintiff holder has the responsibility to prove that the work in question is a derivative of a work the plaintiff has the copyright, and that the defendant had no right to re-use that work.

In this case, this would be a possible copyright infringement of a work by "Norules", assuming "blackshadow" has not gained the permission to re-use that code in his work. Such a permission would not necessarily include a required "credit-line". Unless "Norules" speaks up, there is no claim that this piece of code was stolen.

edu: As I've already asked, please provide information on what code "blackshadow" has stolen from you. The use of a single global variable name makes for a very poor claim of copyright infringement. If you'd like to claim that you are in fact the author "Norules" in the post linked by "speechles", please say so.

@nml375, after you read the following url's you will come to the same conclusion I have I'm sure...
http://forum.egghelp.org/viewtopic.php?p=72710
http://forum.egghelp.org/viewtopic.php?t=13580
http://forum.egghelp.org/viewtopic.php?t=13011
http://forum.egghelp.org/viewtopic.php?t=13406
http://forum.botlending.com/threads/1214
http://forum.botlending.com/threads/1205

Upon checking these, it appears edu has a collection of routines which are functions blacktools uses. Also appears the variable names do stay the same when all of these are combined into a "blacktools" script rather than left as stand alone snippets. He simply renames "edu(" to "black(" and thinks nobody is the wiser. I'm guessing this is what is pissing edu off. edu went through the trouble years ago asking these questions, and creating these threads which blackshadow is feeding from and not giving any mention of. This is where the problem comes from. The lack of credit and mention creates a rift, rather than the usual collaborative effort that stems from such an endeavor.

@edu, I even participated in your threads and tried to help you. So in a way, it angers me as well that someone would go so far as to simply "wad" up your work into a single-unit and call it their own...

the thing is that i dont care much about it, i didnt care at all at the begining, but when i saw that he ''RELEASED'' the .tcl and made ''HIS'' own website for help/download/suggestions/questions/etc.. regarding a .tcl that was made by me (if you watch older versions you can see that there are only edu(arrary) in it)..

another thing.. why this forum was made ? to post and be helped, not to GET other POSTS and RELEASE your own SCRIPT, that ISNT yours!!!

this is the lammest thing i ever seen!!!
