Eggdrop is lagging

Post by Darkmann »

Hi

i have running an eggdrop, it works good so far. But some times if i send a command to the Bot i have to wait 1 Minute to get a response. I have installed the Mondgesicht script.

normal:
(23:01:16) (@user) .

Can someone give me a hint or help for find an answer?

Greetings

Always difficult to assess whether lag is due to the bot/shell being occupied or as a consequence of a poor network connection. Certainly things like badly written scripts can effect performance.

I notice that you have put the examples in reverse order. ie. the abnormal response is at an earlier time. A bot is always lagged for a while when it first comes online. Synchronising channel data, initialising scripts etc etc.

I would advise you to get a simplistic ping script. Temorarily unload all scripts except the ping script and repeatedly test the performance from when the bot comes online through to say 20 minutes afterwards. Then reload all the other scripts and repeat the tests.
I must have had nothing to do
