Eggdrop Password Issue

Im trying to telnet the bot but after typing in my nick and hitting enter I get..

Can't telnet until you have a password set.

Now I have set one in IRC. About 4 times now. Each time it just says the same thing. What can I do?

until you have received confirmation on IRC that your password was actually set, you can't assume it has been set

what you can do is delete userfile, restart the bot with eggdrop -m, telnet to the bot, type NEW and then type your password

Thanks. Deleting the user file and restarting worked.
