Is it possible to connect eggdrop trhough sock 4?
I read on alt.irc.bots eggdrop can connect only with sock 5?
Is it true?

It's actualy the other way around, it will work with socks 4, however, not with socks 5.

First off, are you sure it's a socks 4 proxy, and not a generic/http proxy?

There was information at one time, stating you need to set the proxy, after the bot is running.

This involves enabling the ".set" command in the config file, and using it to change the setting once the bot is running.

Then issue a ".jump" to make the bot reconnect to any servers.

.set doesn't work

Post by vince »

I wrote other post about this.
I tried eggy v.1.6.12 and 1.6.13

.set variable doesn't give me back the value of the variable.
And any set i try do with .set give me back:
What? You need '.help

example:
.set firewall 1.2.3.4:1234
.set log-time 1

All give me back:
What? You need '.help'

Thnx for help
