Eggdrop DCC chat issues

Hi,


Anyone can help on how to fix the eggdrop dcc chat?


I've access only once the bot from the the start, and the next time this happen;
DCC Chat session

Client: Botname (10.154.0.2)
Time: Thu Jul 23 14:19:29 2020

Acknowledging chat request...
-
Unable to connect
-
DCC session closed


Can anyone help me on this, it happens on eggdrop1.8.0, eggdrop1.8.4 .

sirknyt, have you possibly tried /ctcp botnick chat ?

Although you will need to make sure you have set the port on the eggdrop config
look for this on your eggdrop config.

listen 3333 all
And change from 3333 to something high and random (eg, 39765)
also be sure that port is open if you own the system your eggdrop is running on. :wink:

This is basically a more detailed guide for grumpy's link
as you will need to set a listen port for either telnet or ctcp chat, but Not Dcc chat. 8)

For your dcc chat problem, it's most lightly the bot doesnt recognize your hostmask, possibly it has changed, try to open the port and try from there :wink:
