Hello all ! please help me ! I have problem when I try DCC chat with my bot but I can !
then I go to see log :
in log file I see this line :" Lost DCC connection to mynick "
anyone please help me out this problem !! many thankssssssssss
get on irc.minhkhai.net:6667 and whois yourself
compare the address
your address could not resolve on one of these nets, or one of the networks does host masking (changes your address) if bot doesn't reply /msg bot ident password and then try /chat bot or /ctcp bot chat
Just beware that everytime you /msg bot ident <pass> [handle] - New hostmask will be added to your user account. You can easily endup with hundred hostmask within a month or so. More clever solution would be to comeup with a convinient hostmask for your hashed hostname and add it via .+host <yourhandle> <hostmask>.
Ignorant and lazy people will save 30 minutes by chosing simple config file. Smart ones will save 3000 minutes of *everyone's* time by opting for complete config file.
- I have IDENT when my host mask are change . and I can message to Bot OP or .. by /msg BotNick OP password . Bot do anythings But only /ctcp BotNick CHAT Bot doesn't reply .
- I find problem and I see that : Vietchat Network ignore /ctcp NICK CHAT
it's only accept /ctcp NICK ping , /ctcp NICK version are ignore too
Any suggest with me !? please ...!! Can I bind /ctcp BotNick CHAT to other EX : /notice BotNICK Chat ?..... to login to my bot partyline ???
This is a issue with the IRC servers you are on, and nothing to do with eggdrop, or your irc client.
On some networks like this, they provide a usermode, that allows CTCP message through, you should find out what this is (if any) and add it to the init-server in the config file.
If there isn't one, the only other option is to use a good old telnet application. Telnet to the v-host you used on the bot (or the host it shows up as on IRC), using the port you defined as "users" or "all" in the listen setting, you used in eggdrop.
