Botnet help?

Post by Gothic-Angel »

I have my two bots on a botnet and linked fine, however I tried introducing my friends bot into my botnet and I get this error.

<Justins-BOT> [12:21] Challenging e133tserv...
[12:21pm] <Justins-BOT> [12:21] Bad Password: [e133tserv]frette@65.28.194.245/1340

Badpassword eh? I have netbots running on all three bots, Justins-BOT is the hub CustomerServ|ce is my leaf and I was going to put his on as a leaf. I followed the steps closely and what I assume to be correctly seeing as they worked with my bots that were under "Enhance your Eggdrop"

I have my netbots folder with all my settings modified a bit for his bot but with the same "key" it just doesnt seem to be working.

If serv the bot thats trying to connect with badpassword gets a password set on Justins-BOT (hub) how do I make serv give his password to the hub?

I removed pass's even though there was none set and the bot still gets badpassword.

I guess you set the same key for all netbots in the netset.tcl.
Just unlink the bots, clear the passwords and let them link again, they'll set the passwords by themself than.

Since you have netbots.tcl installed, do a .netpass (no arguments) once you've reset the passwords and all the bots linked again. This should get all the passwords right across the botnet and (hopefully) eliminate the bad password errors which can creep up if you let eggdrop set the passwords itself.
