bans

Post by EEggy »

Hi, how do i stop this, if bot is linked just to get userlist, in config file "force-expire" is set to 0, and "ban-time" is also set to 0 , and "dynamicbans" is off, but leaf is keep expiring the bans, is there any way to stop this or hub shouldn't force to leaf to expire/cancel the ban??? or leaf should n't expire/cancel the bans???
Thank you

Is it expiring it's own bans only, or just any bans on channel?
Ignorant and lazy people will save 30 minutes by chosing simple config file. Smart ones will save 3000 minutes of *everyone's* time by opting for complete config file.

hi darko``:leaf is not oped, just linked with "hub" to get the userlist, that's all, and leaf is not using any scripts.. so leaf is expiring hub's ban...
even "ban-time" is set to 0, "force-expire" is set to 0, and "-dynamicbans", "-inactive".......i know by sharing the userlist, there is no harm to expire the bans, because both bots are doing this same time, but just wondering, when these setings are off, then why leaf is expiring? is this a bug?? or??....or there is any trick to stop it...

thanks

Before this could be considered a bug, you should actually op the leaf bot and see if it will remove the ban from IRC banlist. Otherwise, it could be just a wrongly placed putlog() in source and there is no actuall -b affected.

darkoo``: its expiring bots internal bans, there is no question about channel bans, because its not oped. and bots settings are off.

Oh, but that's something completely different. You've made it look like you get one of those "Channel ban on *!*@foo.bar expired" putlogs. Well, in that case you have to see the settings of the bot that set the actuall ban. I assume it is your hub bot that the ban was made on - so check it's ban-time setting.

Hi darko``: well hub is expiring the bans, that's fine, cos "ban-time" is set...
but "leaf" shouldn't expire the hub's bans...cos settings are off, bantime/force-expire set to 0 , -dynamicbans, -inactive..
