Post by Illidan »

Hi,

I'm having a problem over here, when I set a ban (.+ban *!*@host.com #channel reason) and after that I did a .bans #channel it doesnt show the ban that I just did. Why is it so?

Please guide. Thanks

Nexus6,

Thanks but it doesnt display my bans made inside the bot.

My console is
#channel: mkcobxs (msgs, kicks/modes, cmds, misc, bots, files, server).

I can only see the banlist of the channel but not the perm banlist of a specific channel i made in the bot. Global ban list is listed when i type .bans all

I'm sorry for posting at the wrong forum.

Does ".bans #channel all" or ".bans all #channel" help.

What about a simple ".bans" when you have set the console.

ppslim,

Yes when I do a '.bans #channel' it will displayed the current bans on the channel's banlist but not the one I set it in the bot when i type '.+ban home!*@* #channel You are banned forever'. Which means when I typed '.bans #channel' it will shows me like what '.bans all' did

[23:22] <xxx> Global bans:
[23:22] <xxx> Channel bans for #channel: (* = not placed by bot)

&

[23:24] <nickname> .bans #steadless all
[23:24] <xxx> [23:16] #nickname# bans #channel all[23:22] <xxx> Global bans:

You'll need to use ".bans all" if the ban is not active on the channel.

Are you sure the ban has been added to the bot.

Issue a .save and look at the base of the userfile.

thanks it works immediately after i reset the ban and type .save to it. It works but can you please explain to me why do i need to type .save when i set a channel specific perm ban? Isnt it suppose to automatically saved into the userfile?

What do you mean by "it"? What did you type to view the ban?

The userfile isn't saved avery time a change is made, rather every five mins.

As such, between making the ban and the save taking place, a .reload, .rehash, .restart, .die or a crash could have taken place, which would lose any settings placed.

Illidan, it would help next generations of people who might encounter this problem if you explained briefly how your problem was resolved. What command did you use to view the bans?

egghelp,

opps thanks for reminding me to actually type out the steps for other users who might run into the same problem.

Basically what I did is once I finish setting my ban in a specific channel, I will type .save to save all the records I have made followed by a .rehash

Here's a simple steps which will be easier to navigate.

1) .+ban *!*@*.xxx.com #channel You're ban for life
2) .save
3) .rehash
4) .bans all

It will be shown in your banlist now.
