seen

Post by mopar »

As usual I'm confused..
I have loaded seen on one of the bots in my botnet, I have read somewhere that the original seen function aint all that good but when i do a .seen nickname in the partyline it looks fine enough for me... problem is that I of course would want it to work in the channel aswell. Have I done something wrong or will the bot only answer on seen in partyline? Am I to install a seen tcl to make it present the result in the channel.
As it is now I get no respons what so ever on different seen command in the channel.
I have probably done something wrong as usual..

The included seen modules is rather basic in design.

It will only work for users that it has within it's userfile, rather than any user joing the channel. This means a more compact database, but less information and people to get info about.

In the channel, simply type "seen mopar" and is should reply.

Also try "seen elvis" and "seen god" for some fun.

It's really strange, as it just wount respond to seen in channel.. but it will present a result on the same nick at the partyline..

Well no big problem, just annoying.

Are you sure of this?

Many people edit there config file (forums posts prove this test case), and automaticaly think that a rehash will then solve the problems, and the settings will be as they wat. This is not true.

Do a ".chaninfo #channel" on your channel in the partyline, and see if +seen is actualy set.

I do things simalar about 4 times a week.

I write a long winded e-mail to some support team, only to notice the problem, just a few seconds before sending the mail.

However, you allways swaer you checked it, and even worse, as far asd you remember, it's allways the thing you thought you checked first :-?

As usual you're right ppslim..
I'm an FOOOOOL.. I thought I'd set it +seen.. now as i check it's not.. I'll blame the eggi of course since I never do anything wrong ;)

I belive the seen will work for my needs.. as ppl rarely ask for ppl not added as usuers as it's basicly a small friend channel where 80% is added.
