is there any ways to get a website's info without sockets ?

Well no, considering it requires a socket to connect to a web-server, without which, you have nothing but air.

However, there is a Tcl package that provides a tidy interface, to save you writting the socket code yourself.

See the Tcl manual, for the http package.

What do you mean. The HTTP package does work.

It requires a TCP/IP connection to a HTTP server, to serve webpages. Thus, regardless of what your friend claims, there is a socket connection needed.

no, he hates sockets.... and or he found a program which helps him wery much, or I don`t know..... But I know one - he has something.. ;)

hehe im sitting here laughing my ass off :)

just like ppslim said, you need sockets to connect to any/everything.

maybe you friend is calling an external app to do the job?
