Botnet connection...

Post by NewzUK »

Hi

I have 2 bots (on the same machine) on different networks which I'm trying to link via Botnet - I've tried connecting them, but nothing on any help pages seems to work...

The 2 bot's details are:

Bot 1 - Nick: News24 - Hostmask: ~LIVE@fcg-1F0486EB.jetstart.maxnet.co.nz - Port in conf file: 3320 - Network: irc.frontiercapitalgroup.com

Bot 2 - Nick: News-24 - Hostmask: ~LIVE@News24.users.undernet.org - Port in conf file: 3300 - Network: irc2.easynews.com

I've tried various conbinations of wildcards etc for the hostmasks but nothing seems to work - if someone could assist me in exactly what to put in the .+bot line, that would be great!

Thanks in advance...

yes - tried that and various other help pages, but as I said, none have worked - that's why I have requested additional help here.

The botnet document in /eggdrop/docs is a great readme and will walk you through all of it..

Try adding the host -telnet!*@News24.users.undernet.org on News24 to News-24

So .+host News-24 -telnet!*@News24.users.undernet.org

This is guessing that News24 is the hub and News-24 is the leaf. Im a newbie to LMAO.

hehe yes that could be it - will try - tho I think that line is supposed to be the IRC server - the instructions in the bot documents are not clear, and the instructions on egghelp miss out some of the stuff that is stated in the botnet doc - aghrrr so confusing!

The users.undernet.org is a MASK not a Host itself. You cant link bots via that information.

The True Host is what you would need to do to link them. The main host with two diff port numbers and they should link up.
