Stats module diplays weird words (DURNF and SLANG)

Post by Galadhrim »

I don't really have a problem, but the text the bot throws to the channel containts weird words.

1: Galad: 2869 words, 15558 letters, 25 smileys, minutes: 2 DURNF5 14 DURNF7 49 DURNF9 .
2: SLANG1001 1. Galad(2869) 2.

I was only able to find the 2 words in a dll file. And it's not very wise to edit those files. Is there a special command/setting to remove this? Or is there a better version of this module?

I have the latest version of Windrop.

Check the messages displayed at startup of the bot.

This sounds like missing or corrupt language files.

I don't have any other languages selected.
Besides the config file for the bot itself says that english is always selected. And the stats config loads the default language file. Which in this case is english too.

Do i have to uncomment this in the bots config ?
addlang "english" (is now commented)

No, that is for eggdrop itself.

DId you make any changes to the stats.mod config regarding langs?

Did you copy the language files as told to in the stats.mod instructions?

Yes i did. But just disabled the html stats settings.
The language file "stats.lang" is in the language folder of windrop.

The problem is that there is no src folder with the windrop install.

:-?
for what would you need a src-directory?
i guess you have a windrop with installed stats.mod and gseen.mod, right? if so, you normally only have to check that the conf-file is in the eggdrop directory and the lang-file is in the language-directory.
could you post your settings regarding language in the conf-file?

You guessed right.

The conf files are in the folder C:\windrop\
The language files are in the folder C:\windrop\language (24 files)

The only language setting in the eggdrop.conf I have is this addlang "english"
The setting in the stats.conf is loadslang language/stats.lang which is default.

The file stats.lang is in the language folder. I think i'm just missing a file.

------------------------------------------------------------
eggdrop.conf
# If you want to have your Eggdrop messages displayed in a language other
# than English, change this setting to match your preference. An alternative
# would be to set the environment variable EGG_LANG to that value.
addlang "english"

------------------------------------------------------------
stats.conf
# reset old slangs before we load the new ones...
resetslang

# load the default language
loadslang language/stats.lang

------------------------------------------------------------

I disabled the seen module, due to abuse :(

I hope you know what to do, because I'm lost.
Thanks a bunch.

okay...
1. did you change anything in the stats.lang? or just even saved it with a windows-editor?
2. what exactly did you change in the stats.conf? have you tried it without your changes in the html-settings?

Yeah I edited it, but it is still in DOS format. So saving it with a editor shouldn't make a difference.

I edited the following variables:

set min-word-length 5
set display-urls 0
set max-stat-cmds 1:5
set livestats-ip "xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" (still commented)
set smileys ":-) :) ;) ;-) ^_^ :-D :-P :P =) ;D :D :> :P"

That's all.
------
I'm not bothered by the words, it's just that i've the feeling that other info is being skipped by it. I'm gonna try it with the default settings from the install.

I tried the default config. but it just won't leave the words out...

Better even: the bot won't do !stat with the default config file...

I'll just let the problem be. Thanks for your help. It might be a bug and a thing for the next update...

just one last try: try using the original lang-file. eggdrop comes from unix, and in unix, line ends are saved different from how they are saved in windows. perhaps eggdrop (although you have a windrop) doesnt recognize the end-line-characters. may be worth a try.
