Eggdrop RPM

Post by adamg »

Hello,

I'm one of the developers of the PLD Linux (http://www.pld.org.pl/) and a
long time Eggdrop user (since 1.3.27 or so) and admin (1.4.x). I have set
up a few botnets, and written few (rather small) tcl scripts. The time has
come to do something more.

For the past few weeks I have been improving eggdrop.spec for our
distribution. What I actually did was to put various stuff available
across the net together, and made the whole damn thing work (which was not
that hard). I spent my time on this rpm spec file because I believe that
using globally installed eggdrop can make administering your botnet easier
(and I am going to use it myself).

Here is the list of changes to vannila eggdrop (1.6.13):
- Built in support for IPv6 (we [PLD] are proud to have many IPv6 ready
applications - http://www.pld.org.pl/distrib/ipv6/ shows over 100 IPv6
aware packages)
- New language packs were addded (dannish, finnish, italian, norwegian,
portuguese, portuguese_br and romanian)
- New modules were added (away, botnetop, fakebotnet, gseen, irctree,
megahal and stats)
- Three new encryption modules: idea, twofish, rijndael
- Applied multilevel_sharing, unlinkedby and topicprot patches

There are still some things missing, like I would like to add some
valuable tcl scripts. And here's the chance for eggdrop community to act.
What is your opinion about preparing Eggdrop RPMs? Would like to see
something more, like a new module, script, or patch? Any suggestions are
more then welcome :)

That's really nice on your part to do something like this adam. I wish you all the best in all your future endeavours pertaining to eggdrop.
Dormant egghead.
