Dead in Channel

Post by CyCo »

I have this eggdrop bot (1.6.12) in a couple channels. In one of the channels, he has autoop and protect set on him. In that channel, he wont op,voice,kick,ban.. anything to anyone. He will reply to seens and other scripts - but he wont do anything to the users.

I have created a test user with global dk and had him join every channel the bot is in, and he kicked/banned from every channel except the one. I also tried the same thing with +ao flags.

Ive chedked the .chaninfo for the channels, and they are the same in each. Ive tried to remove the bot from the channel, and readd him - but it did not help any.

I've found the problem myself...

When the bot joins the channel, Chanserv does the following
sets mode +a <bot>
sets mode +o <bot>

When the bot sees the +a, it for some reason ignores the +o and does not think it is opped in the channel. So i had the founder set all the bots to not have a +a on join. You can then later set +a on the bot yourself after the +o has been set.

If anyone else is having this problem, try doing this to see if it helps any.

Right, I have a fealing this is due to cross-server implimentation

On some servers, the +a mode is a channel mode, and not a nickmode.

This is likely the cause of eggdrops confusion.

Hi there
i'm having the same problem...
sometimes my Windrop Eggdrop keeps pending, and sometimes it just says: not on channel, when i use .status cmd.
i am running the latest windrop on a joinme irc server without chanserv.
i've tried everything i found on info about this, tried every net-type and made 3 new eggdrop.conf files or so?
if anyone can help, plz, you would be doing me a real big favour! :D

There is nothing that can be done at all.

If the IRC server fails to follow the RFC, then it likely that there are IRC client that can't operate either.
