Bad username error

Hello, When I started the bot in the shell I keep getting this error "[19:42] -ERROR from server- Closing Link: ThreaD by LosAngeles.CA.US.Undernet.Org (USER: Bad username)" And I did added set username "thread" to the conf, what could it be?

btw, I already got one bot running there with no username set and it runs fine...

You need to change the username config item to a RFC complient item.

Many servers also reject people for certain names.

The quickest way to get it running, is to follow the example given. Try "lamest" (default), eggdrop or any other 9 character name.

What do you mean with "RFC complient item" ?

An RFC is a document defining how part of the internet work. These include what names, sizes commands, replies and tonns of other stuff.

RFC complience is the steps of making sure you follow these rules.
