MOTD problem

Post by wizzard »

well, hopefully anyone can help me with this..
im using this cute little ascii-logo in my motd, but somehow all the extra spaces after the first one are completely gone... so instead of the "normal" motd i get this when i start a dcc session with my bot:

[MMM QMML QMML
[MMM QMML QMML
appppp[MMM QMML ,pppppppp_ .gpppppppc appppn4MML
,MMMMMM3MMM QMML #MMMMMMMMM dMMMMMMMMM_[MMMMMM4MML
!MMMF**[MMM QMML MMMF**YMMM QMMF***MMML[MMM**"4MML
!MMM [MMM MMMMMMMM~QMML MMM~ :MMM QMML WWW"[MML QMML
!MMM [MMM MMMMMMMM"QMML MMM~ :MMM QMML [MML 4MML
!MMMppp#MMM QMMMn MMMppppMMM QMML [MMMppp#MML
'MMMMMMMMMF TMMMM MMMMMMMMMM QMML *MMMMMMMMML

does anyone know how to fix this?? ive looked around already but i couldnt find anything. if i missed anything just point me to the right files...

i`m not exactly certain what you mean, but here goes.

I believe there is a certain character that will make the motd file believe it`s an "enter" key.

Secondly, if you are having problems with spacing... try using "alt+255".
This code acts like a space key, and the motd file will recognize it was a space, instead of remove the extra empty space.

Just let me know if I didn`t understand your question correctly.

You should do this logo in *unix not in windows, cos it's screwing things up..
Once the game is over, the king and the pawn go back in the same box.

i did a test using tabs in the motd and they were stripped, so I guess that's your problem...replace your tabs with spaces.
