help ! lol ok i am a complete noobie at eggdrops my m8 booted up our eggdrop and i changed a few files did rehash and it said rehashing and worked thne i changed the file again typed rehashthe eggdrop went offline :/ asin read error , im on a linux and i use ssh , but how in gods name do i boot up the eggdrop please help! :oops: :cry: the config is called sgbot.conf :/ and i dunno the line to boot it up :/ please please please post / reply asap !

When you .rehash the eggdrop and it disconnects (or dies), that means that something in the TCL or CONF , or whatever file you editted is invalid.

Please check the error message to see what is wrong, if you load the bot from the SSH session, it should indicate the file in question.

I would suggest to undo what you have done previously to rehashing.

If you cannot figure out the problem, I would suggest to reinstall the eggdrop from 0 and start from there.

All the instructions for setting up, and starting a bot are there.

However, you skip out most of them, and get to the starting part.

As j0n wrote, first fix the problems with your script and/or eggdrop conf.
In the eggdrop Directory type ./eggrop sgbot.conf to start the bot.
