dcc chat with bot wont work sometimes so i delete the userlist file..
and then i start again from the /msg botnick hello
and /msg botnick pass password
... and then dcc chat with bot will now work again...
then after a couple of days or sessions...
dcc wont work again and do the same routine again and that is deleting the userfile...
wait.. i mean...... before..... i didnt have to delete the user files..
but this time.... i loaded the bot.... joined the server and channel..
but when i tried to dcc chat the bot... it doesnt reply....
so i tried to figure out whats the problem.....
then i tried to delete the userlist... then it was deleted then i reloaded the bot with ./eggdrop -m bot.conf
after that when the bot has joined the server and channels.... when i try to dcc chat the bot... now it works....
but why does it happen? hmmmmmmmmmmmm
Having such dots isn't english, and I doubt they are used in another other language like so. This makes your posts hard to read.
If you are having dificulty like this, you need to make sure the bot recognises you. When you change hosts or ISPs, the bot may not recognise your new host, as matching your previously stored one.
Send a ident message to the bot.
Alternatvly, make sure the bot isn't conflicting you with some1 else, by using stronger hostmasks, multiple ones if it means makeing them that strong.
i think that's what i need.. and that is to send ident to the bot....
but how can i do that?
i have a dialup connection... therefore a dynamic ip..
maybe thats the problem.... hmmmmmmmmmmm
so how can i send ident to bot to know that i am the owner?
