As a dialup user, my hostmask is always changing and if I make it too general, is easy to forge.
I would like my eggdrop bot to op or voice its users by requiring them to "logon" to the bot with their password, rather than detecting their hostmask?
I have searched around and can't find out how anywhere...if someone could help me I would be most grateful, thanks
As you've said, if they don't know your password what can *they* do? Nothing.. Don't you get it that it's the same thing with or without hostmasks as you want. You still need to suply a password..
Once the game is over, the king and the pawn go back in the same box.
As far as I know there is a bit impossible (due the high costs) that your hostmask to change entierly when you connect from the same ISP, I doubt they got such a *feature*.. Read up what I've said about hostmasks and try to make one that will match all hostmasks when you get online. Also, to make it even "harder" put the ident and nick..
Once the game is over, the king and the pawn go back in the same box.
its more the "forging" bit im worried about, users can change their hostmask to practically anything and I don't want people doing this to gain op access...anyway thanks
i did search that list, plus many others and couldn't find one...most i found were just login to auth services to auto-op the BOT scripts, no login scripts....sorry about the trouble im causing, im a bit of a n00b with this stuff, I would be able to modify the login script however...although I can't find a login script
