There seems to be an increasing number of posts where people are just asking for a script to be made. Maybe we could make a new forum for it? Sometimes people have good ideas but usually they're boring so I don't help. However, if there were a new forum with a special "Donate" button... that would be cool. People who have donated would be far more likely to actually have it done for them.
I have to ask because I haven't given it a great deal of thought. It would be nice to see people who request scripts give something back, whether the donations go directly to scripters themselves or into a "pool" that is distributed to non-profits (like the FSF, EFF, and charities). Perhaps the latter, with users getting a rank based on how much they donate?
I like the idea of donating it. Would it be possible to keep track of how many scripts have been done for them, too, maybe on their profiles? Maybe moderators would have the ability to say whether a script was satisfactory based on the initial request. We also have to make it clear with some legal speak that the donation does not constitute a sale and there is no warranty on the produced scripts or even a guarantee that one will be produced.
