Ok, I have a lil problem I had to clear out my user list due to swithing servers..
1. I deleted the user file
2. Started the bot with -m option
3. Tryed Saying hello to The bot didnt work so I read the start up prosses it said to sign in as "NEW" So I did..
3. Made my pass
4. tryed DCCing to the bot
DCC did't work
I lookd into the user file and I seen
"--HOSTS -telnet!*@* "
I dont know what that means I was thinking maybe I need to some how set DCC in there But I dont know how...
I didn't chang any thing in my ".conf" file so DCC should still work..
I still have hello as " # [0/1] let users introduce themselves to the bot via 'hello'? set learn-users 1 "
When you delete your userfile, you start the bot with the -m option.
If all works correctly, you will get the message "goto irc and msg me hello" blah blah blah. This means there are no config errors.
Next got IRC and you bot should majicaly appear in your channels (note, if you kept your old channels file, you bot will have joined them ont he new network).
If the bot comes online, you should msg the bot "hello". If he fails to respond, check you havn't unbound the "hello" command in the config file (the option to learn users is seperate).
Alternativly, you can telnet into the bot, and enter your username as "new", this will present you with 2 questions asking you for a username and password.
