hi,
i keep changing the banner and motd
files but i can not get the egg to dsiplay
them in dcc.
I have tryied: rehash restart and ./eggdrop -m
but nothing seems to work.
I even deleted the old banner and motd
and created new ones in another dir.
i changed the conf file to match the new dir
but it still reads the old banner and motd even
though i have deleted them.
I even killed the bot and
./eggdrop -m conf .... nothing works
also,
i keep changing the gobal settings
and the bot will not take a change
ie:
changed +statuslog to -statuslog
but i am still getting those messages.
There are NO channel settings that would
effect this (I made sure)
One last thing:
Can someone tell me the lastest
stable eggdrop version?
this 1.6.15 does not like me
thanks
Dedan
I once was an intelligent young man, now i am old and i can not remember who i was.
A simple change of the motd file folowed by a .rehash will do fine. The dir where banner and motd file is set in the .conf file at the set "motd" and "telnet-banner". If you've changed the dir of the files then change in the .conf file also then do a .rehash
The global settings may be changed ONLY from the .conf file. The *latest* stable version was .13, I personaly use it and haven't got any problems with it. The .15 may be a lil buggy, not shure for this anyway..
Once the game is over, the king and the pawn go back in the same box.
I've changed the motd and the banner, did a .rehash and works fine.. Stupid question: have you tryed to see if .motd from party line with it had been changed or where do you look for the changes?
