Had an eggdrop configured in slackware 8.0, worked great.
Changed system to openBSD 2.9 and can't get it starting:
* Hostname self-lookup failed.
Have tried setting my-ip, my-hostname and disabling loadmodule dns, no change...
Would really like getting the bot to work again.
Btw, the computer is now also a firewall, it wasn't when running slackware 8.0, if that changes anything.

Can the machine do any lookups from the shell prompt like:-
$ nslookup
http://www.egghelp.org.
If it fails than a) check /etc/resolv.conf and b) check ur firewall is not blocking DNS queries
cheers

Are either of the "my-ip" or "my-hostname" settings commented out?
You may have set them to values, but forgotten to uncomment them (remove the # from the begining of the line)

No, I removed those
It's bugging me that you see no difference what so ever if I set my-ip or my-hostname...
