I could have sworn I read that somebody was working on a Python language module for Eggdrop a few months ago... but the latest info I can find is from March in the Eggheads mailing list...

To my understanding yes, somebody was working on a Python module, however, this was for the 1.7 version.

I seriously wouldn't even be thinking of waiting with baited breath for the alpha version.
