vhost

Post by Bytez »

My shell provider gives me 2 free vhosts to use. How do I use them with eggdrop? I have no idea how, can't find information on their site on how to use them. What do I have to do? Thanks a lot. I'm a newbie with vhosts.

I should say that they give me 2 Free Custom Vhosts anything.you.want.domain.com so does that mean I can set anything in set my-ip line???? Don't I enter a domain name instead of an IP? i want it to show when someone does /whois and also hide my identity

How do I find the IP of the vhost?

First off, a custom vhost doesn't hide your identity.

At all time, the /whois gives true information about the host, from which information can be traced.

As for custom based vhosts, contact the shell provider. They will tell you how to request the custom hosts.

They will need to make configuration changes on there system before the vhosts could operate.

Once that is done, and they are operational, they will either tell you the IP, or look it up yourself using "host name.of.host" on the shell.

You can then use the IP in the my-ip setting.

Note, it takes upto 48 hours before a vhost will fully work.
