Bash.org quote script?

Post by irix »

Well, I'm just wondering if there's any script which adds a public trigger, !bash, which you can use to get quotes from bash.org (like !bash <insert-number-here>)?

See the egghelp.org TCL files list for a bash.org quotefetcher.

I'm working on version 0.3 of this now which will feature the !bash <quotenumber> command you're after as well as various other improvements. Stay tuned.

This is now up to version 1.4.3, basically finished, and does everything you could realistically want it to.

Look in the scripts section for a download.

Hey DJGrenola, sent you an email but I might as well post it here too.

I'm interested in your script, but I don't even have X on my linux server so I don't have mozilla. Do you have a version that works with lynx?

The script should run on non-X machines: the "set agent mozilla" line in the config is merely there to fool the bash.org webserver into thinking that a request is being made to it from a Mozilla browser.

Try it, it should work.

Odd, because for some reason it doesn't work.

The only thing I modified was:

set bash_command ".bash"

so it doesn't conflict with the ChanServ on our network.

The bot isn't spitting out any errors, just nothing happens.

How is it pulling the data from bash.org?

Is there another tcl script it needs? I searched it for lynx and didn't see it use it.

Tried egghttp.tcl and http.tcl separately, and together (both loading before it) and it still wouldn't work.

I'm using the same eggdrop version.

What version of egghttp are you using?

I'm using 1.0.2.

Maybe that has something to do with it. Is there anyway you could send me your egghttp.tcl?

The newest bash.org.tcl doesn't work for me so I reverted to a beta version from ^DooM^ and it worked. However I really want searches :( Can someone send me 1.4 if you have it?
