[10:51:25] <Minako> [10:51] Trying server kaz:6667

Problem is on this server, the domain name gets truncated for no reason, but on others it is fine

Running Eggdrop 1.6.15, any ideas why this is happenning?

I already do that, but during netsplits, kazuko is the hub server
Why is it actually doing this? Eggdrop, or Server error?

What's stopping you from using the IP address instead?
Dormant egghead.

Nothing really
but i want to know why it suddenly decides to truncate the domain name after "kaz" whereas it works perfectly on the other names of the servers
Its just very very strange

since its only 1 server causing this to happen, then it must be a problem from the server. But its still strange...

What happens when trying the following server names?
kazuko.faereal.net
kbzuko.faereal.net
kayuko.faereal.net
kazuko.faereal.org
kbzuko.faereal.org
kayuko.faereal.org
They will all fail, however, the idea is to see if the names are trunkated.

OK, just to get the jist of things, I will translate them to make it quicker to read.
kazuko.faereal.net = kaz
kbzuko.faereal.net = kbzuko.faereal.net
kayuko.faereal.net = kayuko.faereal.net
kazuko.faereal.org = kazuko.faereal.org
kbzuko.faereal.org = kbzuko.faereal.org
kayuko.faereal.org = kayuko.faereal.org
You may notice what I tried, just to get some subtle differances in the values.
I am no C coder, so I am unable to tell exactly why and when the value could be changed/truncated.

Does this same thing happen to other eggdrops of version 1.6.15?
Havent tested it with my windrop, basically because the 1.6.15 windrop release isnt that stable, but it doesnt affect 1.6.13 at all, but, something else does....
[10:50:41] <Weirdo|Zzzzz> .jump kazuko.faereal.net

Tis a very very strange little bug indeed

if you have strict-servernames set to 1, change it back to 0.
