Post by FIDe` »

When a banned user joins the chan, a bot puts the ban, but then every bots removes it then resets it, as the follow:

I really can't understand WHY the bots behave in this way. the bots are correctly linked and shared. here the channel settings:

Settings for dynamic channel #channel:
Protect modes (chanmode): +tn-s
Idle Kick after (idle-kick): DON'T!
stopnethack-mode: 3
aop-delay: 5:30
revenge-mode: 3
Other modes:
-inactive +statuslog +secret +shared
+greet -seen +cycle +dontkickops
-protectops -protectfriends +revenge +revengebot
-bitch -autoop -autovoice -nodesynch
+enforcebans +dynamicbans +userbans -autohalfop
-protecthalfops
+dynamicexempts +userexempts +dynamicinvites +userinvites

flood settings: chan ctcp join kick deop nick
number: 0 3 0 2 2 0
time : 0 60 0 10 10 0

Thanks for help :o

I doubt this is the normal behaviour. It should be some tcl script you have. Remove one by one and see wich one is doing this.
Once the game is over, the king and the pawn go back in the same box.

Yes, I too thought that was some script, but I have only standard netbots 4.09 loaded; I tryed to unload it, with the same result. Thanks for your answer :)

hmm odd indeed.. you did not show the original bot ban it tho... is this a sticky ban? or a +f user?
the bot that originally placed the ban.. do the other bots see it as opped before it happens? like on a .channel

the original ban is:
[13:03] <bot> ! [ 2] *n?nc??tt*!*@* (perm)
[13:03] <bot> gianfi: requested
[13:03] <bot> Created 01:03

The ban is global, not sticky, and shared on all the bots:

[13:07] <bot2> ! [ 2] *n?nc??tt*!*@* (perm)
[13:07] <bot2> gianfi: requested
[13:07] <bot2> Created 02:01

And no, it isn't on a +f user; it doesn't match else any +f user. This happens often not only with this ban however; I can understand that the bot removes a ban for any reason, but that sets -b+b on the same ban ? :)
thanks for help

the net is ircnet.. well, there's a thing that I didn't noticed: I put in the partyline the ban
[15:34] <Toocool> ! [ 2] *n?nc??tt*!*@* (perm)
[15:34] <Toocool> gianfi: requested
[15:34] <Toocool> Created 02:01
with a * after the "tt" , but the bot enforce +b *n?nc??tt!*@* , without a * after the "tt" .

If I write /raw mode #friends +b *n?nc??tt*!*@* , the server also enfoces +b *n?nc??tt!*@* .

Thinking about it, max nick lenght in ircnet is 9 characters.. maybe I have set the ban too long, so the server doesn't accept the ban; but, eggdrop shouldn't try to enforce bans more long that max network nick lenght. ok, my fault :) thanks to anyone who helped me.
