ok i have got one problem here with eggdrop
i have added a user with host and give him |+o flag on certain channel.
once he set his password by typing "/msg botname pass <password>"
and he verify with bot with "/msg botname op <hispass>" the bot op him on that channel. However if he reconnect and try to verify with the bot to get op. the bot show msg like
"(someuser!~
heehaa@219.xx.xxx.xx ) !*! failed OP"
he is using same nickname and identd !!!!!
any idea ????

Does bot have op on channel.This bot said to me when he didnt had op on channel..

i assume the user is in the channel :
for example the channel is #tbog_yang ok
and his nick name on channel is "david"
in bot i type .adduser david
and i type .chattr david +o #tbog_yang

blah maybe he have static host type and he change idented..

AFAIK +o isn't autoop and a password isn't faked that easily...
I suggest you use '.channel #tbog_yang' and look if he is recognized with a handle.

errr De Kus i did what u said and the handle for his nick is "*" while other i saw the name of his nick.
So any suggestiong ?
oh one more thing even i give him op manually

then make a /whois on irc to the user and an .whois on the bot. hope you know how you will give him an hostmark that matchs him always, but most secure ^^. everthing else is just reading the manual
.
seeing the host above means the bot probably set a 1.2.3.* hostmark, but the host of the person changes in last 2 means you will probably need a 1.2.* host ^^.

Ok then adding him with .adduser is good idea, but is is him using same idented all the time, because if you add user with .adduser, bot take host like this idented@*.provider.com .
