Not echoing commands typed on the partyline to linked bots

Post by z_one »

Say I have 2 linked bots A and B.
Is there a way to prevent people who are logged in to the partyline of bot B to see what commands (anything starting with a dot) I type on the partyline of bot A?
Thanks.

When I whois my bots I see normal information (bot hosts, address, port, handle, flags etc...)

hmm after a little experimenting.. it seems to be bound to +n.. so to prevent people from seeing it.. dont make them owners on the leafs.. in other words.. if you say.. filter +n on the leaf bots with private-globals setting, they will only be able to see the commands on the hub.. try a little testing yourself
The netbots message when you do a netbots command appears to be bound to the +o console flag.. hope this helps :)

Yes I am referring to all eggdrop commands like .chattr and .+host etc...
The thing is, people seeing an echo of that only have +o flags. They are not owners.

I'm not sure I get your point, can you please elaborate a bit further. Thanks.

ok well i tested some on a couple of bots... im sure you are aware of the +c console flag (commands) . when a user does not have this flag on his console.. it seems he will still see commands done on other share bots if he has +n on the bot he is on.. in other words.. i was on my hub and my leaf.. as two different users.. i had no console flags on the leaf and was +n global.. and yes i could see the commands i was doing on the hub.. if i removed the +n and left myself +m global i could not... ( altho i could still see netbot broadcasts if i had +o console flag set).. If you are saying the folks on the leafs seeing these commands only had +o.. well i could not duplicate that at all.. I needed perm owner.. or owner on the leafs to see commands comming from other bots(without +c console)

Thanks, that was my question. I'll try it and let you know what happens. :)
