Post by t3ch^ »

Im behind nat and my bot wont accept dccs.

Some info:

it does not work...

I can telnet to the bot, but not "irc chat" with it.

Does this has somting to do with me also behind the same firewall?

my ip is 192.168.0.2

If you are using mIRC, take a look at
the DCC chat settings of your client.

options/DCC

I am behind a NAT that has the same IP as yours.

I use /ctcp Botnick chat

Did you load the DCC module?

#### CTCP MODULE ####

# This module provides the normal ctcp replies that you'd expect.
# Without it loaded, CTCP CHAT will not work. The server module
# is required for this module to function.
loadmodule ctcp

change your eggdrop listening port
to a different number.

if other bots are close to your port,
there can be problems.

some servers require you to use
ports over 18000

if you are using mIRC, you need to have your
DCC chat settings truned "on"
"show chat request" etc

I know this reply is kinda late... If you open the eggdrop.advanced.conf (it may be in others) it very specifically tells you what to do in case of having to deal with NAT. basically you do like he said myip outside ip (not 192.168.0.2)

Hey!
I have the same problem, I can't dcc or ctcp my windrop on Quakenet.
I use eggdrops on EFnet and they are okay to ctcp with.
I can't understand why it does not work on Quakenet.
I've checked all the settings and they all seems to be alrite.

hi..

I think i have the same problem heres my story...

Today i bought myself a router, before I was just using a normal ADSL modem on my PC behind the WinXP firewall..

My setup is as follows.

My Main PC running MiRC is on WinXP.. ip: 10.0.0.1
My linux setup which is running the bot is: 10.0.0.3

My Router is NAT and both setups are behind that..

My Bot connects fine, just i cant DCC or TELNET to it at all on quakenet.. (not tried other networks)

Now i believe its summit to do with idents.. Before my router I had my XP Firewall and to get DCC working i did this: http://toidyman.net/xp-dcc/

however, now im using the router, i have no idea how to get the bot to accept my DCC Chats :(

Ne help or guides would be great :D
