Need some help!

Post by szuka »

Hey. I'm new with these windrops and I could need some help. I've been looking tru lots and lots of facs and forums but still can't find the answers and help I need.
First of all I can't dcc/ctcp my bot, I'm connected to internet tru another comp but on other bots I use on Efnet I can ctcp. (This windrop I'm using is now located at Quakenet) and I can't even connect to my bot tru Telnet. And he don't always reply my /msg commands. Like when I need op. Altho when I use the help command he replies.
I also have the L bot in my channel on Quakenet. When I join the channel I get auto op, but right after my windrop deop me. And then I can't get op again. I guess this is what help I need right now *sigh* maybe I shouldnt do this with windrops. I'm such a lewser. Girls and bots, yeah right.
Thanks.

verify that you have well uncomment the line listen 3333 all
And begin using your eggdrop with /msg botnick hello
If you don't, you won't be able to have any access.

the trouble is that you can't connect to the party-line...
If your eggdrop is on a multiple-ip machine, you must set my-ip to the real ip it use.
And then, try to telnet from the same machine whithout using 127.0.0.1 but the value wich is in my-ip

hum, I can't understand how is your network....
Your computer is behind a firewall, and your eggdrops are on it...
when doing a telnet localhost botport , nothing?
If you use a computer wich is directly connected to the net, no trouble?

The only thing I can see is a bad configuration of your firewall, blocking outgoing communications on particular ports...

Maybe. But still, how come I can ctcp the eggdrops i use on EFnet without any trouble? But those on Quakenet I cant.. The bots on EFnet are running from a shell, those on Quakenet are running from my machine. Can it have something to do with that?

I changed some lines in the conf file and can now telnet my windrop. So if I have got this all right it's enough if I can telnet the bot, then I don't need to dcc..or? But I was thinking about something else, when a +o deop someone the windrop sets -o to the one who did it. How can I change that?
